at one point I had heard downtown RO.  Guess a change of the mind.  Berkley is a smarter move.

Milan Pizzeria opened Thursday. It's good pizza, we'll eat it again. But it is not a game changer. Round pizzas, and crust thicker than most but not to the thickness of a deep dish. Stay away from the "garlic bread with cheese" if you love cheese bread. I'll try a sandwich or calzone next time too.

The prices are a bit high, probably what they need to charge to make rent but a bit steep given the amount of pizza competition.

We ordered a whole pie fresh baked, but they had multiple pizzas cut into slices on display behind glass (no heating lamp or indication of how long they sit there). My guess is this place is going to do with pizza what comet burger does with hamburgers: feed the night crowd but not win any awards.

where is this new pizza?  several years ago there was a by the slice place. It was great for lunch and it was made on site. It was where Luigi's is now on Washington. Homemade cookies too.

I miss Fellini's.  So good.
Wish we had a good sit down Detroit style joint.  Had Buddy's on Woodward last night.

Finally, my current obsession is Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken.  Winner, winner, chicken dinner.

Sometimes I wish the government would just ban itself. Wrap your heads around that, fellas.

Loui's on Dequindre between 10 and 9 mile. Not "ours" but worth the short drive. North end folks are closer to Shields in Troy but not as good as Loui's imo.

I always loved a classic pizza.  In college we used to go to Red Devil on Fenkell.  Sorry, my stomach rejects cheese now.  Boohoo!  And peppers too.  I will have a slice every once and a while.  I remember seeing my first pizza.  I was at my girlfriends cottage in Port Austin and the family next door were Italian.  Flat crust, ground sausage, homemade tomato sauce, and cheese. Their mom also did homemade noodles.  She always it was the flour that was the secret.  What did I know.  I was a kid!

Freshii.

Although I might refer to it by your spellcheck's autocorrect, since that seems like a great suggestion.

Outside of the old pizza joint in Ferndale at 9 and Woodward - Como's.   There is large sign that is posted reading "Don't let our Ferndale become Royal Oak."
