Still empty:
-Little Tree Sushi Bar

Rumors of closure:
-Dixie Moon Saloon

Both of these places are open and even have “Now Hiring” signs on their windows.

Which doesn’t make much sense since the parking lot is likely to close in the near future.

Turning the lot into a large building, a parking structure and a park.

Wouldn't this towering over city hall ?    I don't get it.

Wonder if we get a Chamber update once Toxic Hell gets it's booze license Monday.
$100.00 says the police dept flips it's opinion.
Sugary alcohol and ersatz food that appeals to sub 30 folks.  What could go wrong ?

Buzzsaw, tons of info about it on this site, the Tribune, Patch, etc. City Hall and the Police station will be torn down and replaced east of Troy, over by the courthouse.

Wow.   Sorry guess I was obviously  - what a massive project !!!   I only really followed the nonsense on second street and the fresard lot (which is a pain in my a** every day home).

What big changes at the same time !

Capriotti's sandwich shop on Woodward is closed and gone.  While I only went there once, I thought it was a pretty good sub and they had some unique offerings.  Not sure what did them in, but I will say that lot is always busy and never fun to park in.

Gladdy, the little guys seem to have a parking issue.  ATT takes up, sometimes, 50% of the available parking.  The eyeglass store is #2.  Even PaiWai has a struggle sometimes.  Most of their customers are carryout.  We don't eat there anymore.  The menu is changed.  Tastes different.
Capriotti's had a good turkey sandwich.  I didn't have too much problem parking.  But the handicap spaces usually had at least one available.
What I do miss was the Mailing Space.  It was so handy.

Just read that the Taco Bell Cantina got turned down for their liquor license. Want to start a pool on how long til they shut that location down? You can also take the "they will survive" bet if you want.

Oh, Taco Bell will get the license in the end.
What the head of the Police dept and Restaurant Association think carries only so much weight, when the word LAWSUIT is thrown about.
Even though the city adores paying attorneys and consultants, it will bow in the end.
The new attorney ( former commissioner )  has severe last worditis.
At least he has added " cool" to his vocabulary, to go with " awesome" .
When the city still has no disclosed findings of the Oakland County investigation regarding the ROPD shooting fatality ( lawsuit primed and ready)    the need for  financial damage control will kick in soon.

Take solace the attorney of note was cited for being out of order by the Mayor.
Seems he and the local favorite gadfly actually have some thing in common after all.

The D.D.A. will jump on board.  Taco Bell will get the license.

This makes twice i was dead wrong. I thought for sure it would fly last night.
I also thought Dave Poultan would get the most votes.
Take my prediction for what it is worth. Nobody bats 1.000

TB's attorney did open a door last night. The production Monday was well set up and executed. There will be probably be a lawsuit, several conferences, an agreement and settlement and again, voila, slushies galore.  And the millennials will dance in the street.
