Not surprised. Bad corner.
I think many mid-priced eateries are on the skids.  How many ways can you cook chicken or decorate a burger?

The corner of 14 and Woodward is a tough one .... sometimes you can barely knows it there.   13 mile by comparison is completely recognizable.

As many ways as you can top a pizza.   ;)

So we lost Capprioti's, Pei Wei, Moe's and now Billy Sims on Woodward.  We gained a Green Space and a Gus's.  And I imagine a slew of quick serve to come at Beaumontland.

Woodward, just as downtown - is an ever changing beast.

Yes, Woodward may become drive thru heaven mostly because of the limited parking areas per building.  It is a bit of a bitch for the neighborhoods because of the slobs that throw the containers out of the car windows.

Downtown probably Michigan or national chains and bars.  And food trucks?????  Ugh!

Most of you know Pei Wei closed.  Still unknown what will replace it.

In the middle of this strip mall was a small sandwich store that didn't last very long.  There is a "gourmet" burger place coming called Burgerim.  Anyone ever heard of it?  They are out of Florida.

The sandwich shop was Capriotti’s.    They closed in Berkley too.   No idea on burger shop.

Qdoba on Main Street closed on Sunday September 30th.

I liked it personally (quick & easy food that I could order online ahead of time without having to deal with a phone call), but this won't be a big loss for downtown -- given that we have Mesa, Detroit Taco Company, the alcohol-free Taco Bell Cantina and even Leos serving up Mexican flavored fare.  I'm guessing the destruction of parking was a big part of what did them in.

^^^ LOLZ, every restaurant in downtown could close and the parking impact deniers still wouldn't run out of excuses "it was dirty, food sucked, smelled like pickles, saw rats, didn't like the name, put too much mayo on my sandwich, building was too cold, didn't like the seat cushions, blah blah"

Way to follow the mayor's dog whistle. woof!

The mayor sounded the dog whistle when he attacked Andiamo after leaving RO (and growing the chain elsewhere! weird that expansion happens for a restaurant the mayor says sucks).

Now every cheerleader is quick to attack the quality and reputation of any business that leaves RO, just to make sure everyone else knows it can't possibly have anything to do with parking.

Pasquale's is closing. Now that one we can confidently report has nothing to do with downtown parking.
